Did you know that Amazon is headquartered mere minutes from SPU? Take a selfie with The Spheres, an innovative workspace that merges the natural and the metropolitan. The giant atrium is open to the public by reservation two Saturdays a month.
The three spherical glass buildings are home to 40,000 plants from cloud forest regions. After visiting from either outside or inside, you’ll be inspired to add more flora to your dorm room. Swing by a nursery or Trader Joe’s on your way home to grab some plants to spruce up your study life.
Gum Wall
What’s that minty, fruity smell wafting down Post Alley? Thousands of pieces of gum from the Gum Wall, of course! Whether you feel the urge to take pictures, gag in disgust, add your own gum to the germy collection, or even lick the wall, the Gum Wall is a sight to see. The wall started in the ’90s after improv theater goers stuck their gum on the bricks outside of Unexpected Productions. The gum comes in all colors and shapes and will brighten your Insta feed. Bring along some Dubble Bubble if you want to make your mark.
