With a history in global development studies, Downs is passionate about working with refugees and victims of sexual violence. She has experience working as the Program Director for The Justice School Ghana and is preparing for a Master’s program in the future.

How does your time at SPU connect to the work you’re doing today?

My global development studies degree has given me a great foundation for the work I want to do in the future.

Who made a difference in your SPU education?

Dr. Don Holsinger has fueled my passion for international work in Africa and the Middle East ever since the first quarter of my freshman year. He has constantly inspired and encouraged me.

What advice do you have for students about life after graduation?

Be patient and open to every possibility!
