In men’s basketball, senior Shaw Anderson set an all-time scoring record at SPU in a 62-56 victory over Alaska Fairbanks on March 2, 2024.

With 5:17 remaining in the first half, Shaw knocked down the 207th 3-pointer of his career to move to the top of the all-time scoring list. Shaw dethroned SPU Athletics Hall of Famer Loren Anderson ’59 (no relation), who established 13 program records during his time at SPU. Shaw now claims three of those records, including career points (1,959), career field goals (694), and single-game free throw percentage (16-for-16).

“Shaw Anderson is one of the best players to ever wear an SPU uniform,” said interim head coach Keffrey Fazio. “He’s the hardest worker. He’s never complained, whined, or had a bad attitude at any point during his time here. As members of the SPU community, we couldn’t ask for a better person to have accomplished this because he’s about everything right.”
