Emma’s spending her summer working in at a bakery in Salem, Oregon. Now that’s a pretty sweet gig.

 

2. Conservation Nation: @hal_ley

Haley working with The Nature Conservancy in North Dakota

Haley’s spending her summer in North Dakota for a paid internship with The Nature Conservancy. Her role as part of the Leaders for Environmental Action for the Future (LEAF) focuses on doing conservation work on nature preserves. She’s seen bison, prairie dogs, ancient fossils … and a ton of bugs that we don’t have in the Pacific Northwest.

Children and Elephants at the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma, Washington

As part of her work as a camp counselor, Nicole takes elementary school students to Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. It’s part of the Science and Math Institute in Tacoma, Washington, and honestly sounds STEMtastic.
