Greg Asmakoupoulos '74

Greg Asimakoupoulos ’74 has recently joined the Seattle Pacific staff as alumni ambassador. In this volunteer role, Greg will be helping the Class of 1975 members plan and coordinate their 50-year reunion in June 2025. He will also be connecting with SPU alumni and with churches in the Seattle area and beyond to help communicate the vision of SPU President Deana Porterfield, listen to their concerns, and foster creative ways to communicate and celebrate Seattle Pacific memories. “I’m excited about reconnecting with former classmates and meeting alums I’ve only heard about previously,” Greg said. “You can expect to see me at various campus events throughout the year.”

Greg served as director of church relations at SPU following his senior year and before beginning his studies at Fuller Seminary. He served in pastoral ministry for 45 years in California, Illinois, and Washington before retiring a year ago. His most recent assignment was full-time chaplain at Covenant Living at the Shores, a faith-based retirement community on Mercer Island. A native of Wenatchee, he continues to serve as the volunteer chaplain for the Mercer Island police and fire departments. He also is the faith and values columnist for the Mercer Island Reporter and the Wenatchee World.

Greg and his wife, Wendy Steven Asimakoupoulos ’74, live on Mercer Island, where they enjoy regular visits with their three grown daughters and two granddaughters.

You can reach Greg by calling the Office of Alumni, Parent, and Family Relations at 206-281-2586.
