With a background in biology, Rosser currently works as a research scientist for ReachBio Research Labs, a drug development contract research organization that specializes in hematology and immunology toxicology assays. His days are fairly variable.
How does your time at SPU connect to the work you’re doing today?
While working on my biology undergraduate major at SPU, I received an incredible opportunity to conduct undergraduate research. This experience led to the pursuit of graduate studies in molecular biology later on at Washington State University. My graduate studies, in turn, played a pivotal role in helping me land my first position in industry where I am still today. As I mentioned earlier, I am a research scientist for a small contract research organization that services drug development in the biotech and pharmaceutical sectors.
Who made a difference in your SPU education?
Dr. Derek Wood, professor of biology, was instrumental in molding my educational path. He graciously gave me an opportunity to partake in undergraduate research in his laboratory. That experience yielded several opportunities to present research at the local and national level.
What advice do you have for students about life after graduation?
Great persistence and careful planning can go a long way in accomplishing your goals; keep your head down and push forward!
