How does your time at SPU connect to the work you’re doing today?

I was first offered the opportunity at KPMG LLP by a recommendation by my professor, Ross Stewart. He helped open the door to my blossoming career. Additionally, SPU encouraged me to further give of myself in all I do for the Lord. My faith, strengthened by my Christian classes at SPU and fellowship caused my determination to continue to persevere. I overcame many huddles to now be an acting manager at my job, and I am glad I did not give up.

Who made a difference in your SPU education?

Dr. Ross Stewart was always fun and friendly, and he made accounting so much fun that I pursued it as my degree. He encouraged me to get work experience in the field and made me feel very welcome at SPU. He made known to me how much he believed in me.

What advice do you have for students about life after graduation?

As you enter the work environment, remember who you are and your values, despite the influence of your co-workers or the values promoted by your employers.
